Unique Features

1. BODHGAYA is one of the four major sites in the life of Buddha. Other three being LUMBINI, where the Buddha was born, SARNATH where the Buddha delivered his first sermon, and KUSHINAGAR where the Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana.
2. The main attraction in Bodhgaya is the Mahabodhi Temple. It is believed to have been built on the very place where the Buddha attained enlightenment. The other attraction is Bodhi tree which is believed to be the continuation of the same tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment.
3. Bodhgaya ENLIGHTENMENT Marathon is the second spiritual sport marathon in the world. The first being Lumbini PEACE Marathon which is organized every year on the Full Moon Day of March – the auspicious day Siddhartha Gautam returned home as an Enlightened Buddha in Kapilvastu of present day Nepal.
4. The marathon track runs through the footsteps of Siddhartha Gautam, combining all heritage sites where he meditated in search of supreme knowledge.
